Effective Ways to Minimize Aging Signs

Our skin ages over time and to some extent, this is unavoidable, but several external influences that can cause our skin to age rapidly are manageable. Besides managing these factors, there are also a variety of non-surgical procedures to tighten our skin and enhance our appearance. Here are some things you can do to mitigate the symptoms of aging.

Vitamins For Beauty

You've certainly heard the saying, "You are what you eat." This is particularly true when it comes to how well your skin ages. A large Dutch study of 2019Trusted Source, with more than 2,700 participants found that dietary habits are associated with skin conditions. According to the report, individuals whose diets contain a large amount of red meat and saturated fats expect to have more skin problems than individuals who have more fruit in their diet. Foods with high anti-inflammatory or antibacterial effects may also improve blood circulation and protect against tissue damage and premature aging. Some of the foods and beverages with these virtues include:

  • Green Tea
  • Olive Oil
  • Avocados
  • Juicy Fruits
  • Flax Seeds
  • Vegetables
  • Dry Fruit

What you eat goes a long way towards deciding your health and appearance. A diet containing junk food lead to bloating, fat build-up, stressed organs, and more which will affect. Replacing an unhealthy diet with one that has a balanced distribution of macro and micronutrients will boost your appearance and increase your energy.

Exercise Daily

Daily exercise is necessary if you want to enhance your skin and slow down aging. When performing exercise daily, not only you can lose fat, but also tone and tighten your skin with the sweat. Exercise will get you rid of various symptoms of aging and improve your appearance.

Running, jogging and yoga will give your body the requisite circulation of blood and will also enhance the detoxification of the whole body. After working out you'll find a glow on your skin and your skin will feel tighter. Racing against the clock? Take a short walk around the block.

Photo-Facial Treatment

Even if you spend the entire day at home, your skin will be exposed to toxins and sunlight. They're both taking a toll on our skin by drying it out, altering our complexion, and more. Although our skin is built to avoid these effects, our capacity to protect ourselves is diminished over time as the effect of UV rays increases day by day.

You can use Photofacial laser treatment to boost your body’s ability to defend itself against skin aging. A naturally produced protein called collagen protects and nourishes the skin. Laser skin-rejuvenation treatment improves the production of collagen, thereby improving the skin’s health and appearance.

Stay Hydrated

Drinking plenty of water during the day can help the skin maintain moisture and slow aging. In general, a minimum of 10 8-ounce glasses of water is needed per day (about 2.5 liters in total). Drinking a glass of water before bedtime will significantly minimize the existence of any fine lines around your eyes.

Wear Sunblock

Rain or shine, every season, applying sunscreen should be a natural part of normal life, like washing your hands.  The American Academy of Dermatology advises the use of a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and which says "broad-spectrum" on the bottle. This means that it protects against UVA and UVB radiation from the sun. The sunscreen should also give some resistance to water. UVA rays cause the symptoms of sun aging, Waldorf states. To obtain UVA safety, search the list of ingredients for avobenzone, Mexoryl, zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. Just reapply the sunscreen as directed on the packaging. Most people don't get enough, so be liberal when you apply it and re-apply it every one to three hours, depending on how much exercising, swimming, or direct sun exposure you get. "Nothing is going to work if you don’t put on enough and use it often enough," says Waldorf. Don't forget about your neck, your hands and your sides.

Avoid Smoking

Smoking speeds up the degradation of collagen in your skin and restricts the blood vessels that bring oxygen and nutrients to your skin. This accelerate thew formation of wrinkles, fine lines, and crow's feet and reduces elasticity of your skin. Smokers are more likely to wrinkle early on. Nails and fingertips will turn yellow in time and your skin will turn a grayish color. Heat and smoke from the cigarette can also make your skin dry and cracked with prolonged use.

Stay Moisturized

A moisturizer helps provide the necessary hydration for your skin. Moisturizers help nourish and revitalize the skin. This is particularly important, when you get older and your skin gets drier, for making it more resistant to wrinkles. Research indicates that the use of a moisturizer containing hyaluronic acid and vitamin C is particularly successful in preventing wrinkles from forming or deepening. Peter Thomas Roth's Water Drench Hyaluronic Moisturizer is an effective moisturizer that will lock in moisture and prevent aging. Contact your dermatologist for your skin product advice.

Fat and Cellulite Reduction

Although reducing fat can make us look a lot younger than we are, exercise and diet sometimes is not enough. There is a non-surgical technique requiring the use of radiofrequency energy to boost blood flow and heat to problematic fatty tissues. This decreases fat and cellulite and as with exercise, tightens the skin.
